Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy describes what you may and may not do when using Mortiqo. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy. Breach may result in suspension or termination.
1. Permitted Use
Mortiqo is provided for legitimate use by UK mortgage and protection advisers and the firms they work for, including:
- Managing client relationships and cases
- Collecting fact-find information from clients with lawful consent
- Running compliance checks and generating suitability reports
- Tracking renewals, pipelines, tasks and appointments
- Storing and processing client documents securely
2. Prohibited Activities
You agree not to use Mortiqo to:
- Break any applicable law, including UK GDPR, FCA rules, or money laundering regulations
- Process personal data without proper lawful basis (consent, contract, legitimate interest)
- Send unsolicited marketing communications (spam)
- Upload viruses, malware, or any malicious code
- Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems you're not authorised to access
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or copy the Service
- Resell, sublicense, or share your account access with third parties
- Use automated tools to scrape, copy, or extract data from the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or other users
- Misrepresent your identity or your firm's regulatory status
- Use the Service to harass, defame, or harm any individual
3. Client Data Responsibilities
When you upload client data to Mortiqo:
- You confirm you have lawful basis to process that data
- You confirm the client has been informed about how their data will be used
- You're responsible for ensuring data is accurate
- You must honour any data subject rights requests (access, deletion, correction) from your clients
4. AI-Generated Content
Mortiqo's AI features assist your professional work but do not replace your judgement:
- You must review all AI-generated content (compliance flags, suitability drafts, etc.) before relying on it
- You're responsible for the final advice provided to your clients
- You must not present AI-generated content as your own original work in regulatory submissions
5. FCA and Network Compliance
- If you're an Appointed Representative, check with your network before adopting Mortiqo
- Mortiqo's compliance features support your obligations but don't satisfy them on your behalf
- You remain solely responsible for FCA compliance, including Consumer Duty obligations
6. Security
You agree to:
- Keep your login credentials confidential
- Use strong, unique passwords
- Notify us immediately of any suspected security breach
- Log out when finished using the Service on shared devices
7. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any breach of this Policy, please report it to hello@mortiqo.com.
8. Consequences
Breach of this Policy may result in:
- Warnings or temporary suspension
- Permanent account termination without refund
- Reporting to relevant authorities where required by law
- Legal action where appropriate
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy occasionally. We'll notify you of significant changes.
